Elisha’s prayer

2 Kings 4:11-35

When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his couch. He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed to the Lord. 

Faith: The story highlights the importance of faith, particularly the Shunammite woman's persistent faith in the face of a devastating loss. Her actions were crucial, as her belief in God's power through Elisha prompted the miracle.

Divine power: It is a testament to God's ultimate power over life and death. While earthly efforts like a father's instructions or a mother's care were futile, God's power, through Elisha, was able to revive the boy.

Miraculous healing: The healing of the boy is a miraculous event that prefigures the power of resurrection found in the New Testament. It shows that God can work in ways that seem disconnected from the healing source, with the power coming from God alone.
